Today, we stand as a whimsical haven, where whiskers meet whimsy, and each grooming session is a delightful adventure. Our story continues with the same passion, dedication, and love that sparked our journey all those years ago.

Meet Angus
Our Once-in-a-Lifetime Kid
“Once in a lifetime, there’s that one dog who changes everything.” For us, that was Angus. A tiny black furball who flipped our world — turning Pavithra from someone who feared dogs into a skilled trainer and wellness expert, and turning me from a carefree pet parent into an “I’ll do anything for my kids” dog dad. He was the spark behind everything we do today. Though he’s no longer with us, Angus lives on in every story we tell, every dog we help, and all that we build.

My Soul Mate
I truly believe Ozzie was sent by Angus. After Angus passed, it took us five years to even consider welcoming another kid into our lives. Then one day, a friend mentioned a Shih Tzu he wanted to give away. Pavithra told me to check, so I did. She said “Yes,” and soon a tiny fluffball was sitting beside me in the car. When I picked her up, she asked, “Where’s the Shih Tzu?” I pointed next to her. Her first reaction: “This is a rat! You got fooled. Go give him back.” And I simply said, “No way. He’s ours now.” That little “rat” became my soul mate. It was the start of a bond I can’t explain — two souls who just fit. Ozzie and I are still going strong. He’s 11 now, but he looks, acts, and feels like he’s three — full of mischief, love, and life.

The Zen of Our Pack
About a year after Ozzie came home, Pavithra wanted to adopt another dog — a companion who could grow with him. By then, Ozzie and Pavithra were inseparable. Then we saw a Facebook post: “157 laboratory-rescued beagles up for adoption.” I wasn’t fully convinced, and Ozzie definitely wasn’t — he rejected every beagle we introduced, jumping into our arms each time. But then came Taco. A 4-year-old beagle with calm, wise eyes — as if he’d lived a thousand lives. Smart, steady, and grounding, he had a quiet “I’ve got you” energy from the moment he arrived. He aced his puzzle competition, became the first therapy dog among the rescued beagles, and slowly grew into the Zen of our pack. Somewhere along the way, he became Pavithra’s soulmate — the one who healed and guided her. Today, at 14, Taco still has the spirit of a 10-year-old and remains Ozzie’s closest friend.

The Independent Princess
I knew this was coming, but couldn’t stop it. Bella was from the same batch of 157 lab-rescued beagles — and we later found out she was the one chasing Ozzie in an old park video. No surprise she found her way to us. She was adopted by another family first, but when they had to give her up, we fostered her… and happily foster-failed. Bella, confident, charming, and quietly independent, asked for little but gave so much. She didn’t force her place — she just settled in naturally. And with her arrival, Taco, Ozzie, and Bella became the Trio.

The Smartie Who Foodied Her Way Into Our Hearts
Khushi is the clever little girl who literally foodied her way into our lives. At just 2 months old, she was hit by a bike and brought to a clinic, eventually losing one leg — growing into the happiest, bravest tripod we know. By coincidence, we had rescued another injured pup the same day and taken him to the same clinic. The next morning, the doctors said neither pup was eating. So I cooked chicken and veggies, and Pavithra went to feed our pup. Right beside him was this tiny tripod girl, wagging as if saying, “Me too!” Pavithra fed her, and her tail didn’t stop. The following day, I brought an extra bowl. When Khushi saw us, she let out the sweetest little howl — and that was it. She didn’t just enter our hearts; she hopped and foodied her way in. Today, she’s our brightest, boldest tripod.

Hard to believe, but they found him outside a bar — not high, just in deep pain. Our friend Sohini saw this tiny 2-month-old pup with a dangling leg searching for food and rushed him to safety. Sheru had parvo, a blood count under 3 g/dL, and an injury so severe he lost a leg. But even as a tiny tripod, he fought with everything he had. By the time we met her, Sukki had undergone surgery and would live the rest of her life without sight. This 1-year-old Shih Tzu walked into our world, and bringing her home became one of our best decisions. She faced challenges even after joining us, but once she healed, Sukki became who she is meant to be — the Boss. She decides who moves where and at what pace. Khushi is her arch rival; Sheru and Ozzie are her best buddies. Taco and Bella don’t dare walk without her approval — and it’s hilarious. AL, the gentle giant, was found abandoned at a construction site, starving and weak. Pavithra rushed to rescue him, and within hours he was safe at the clinic. When she sent me his photo, something instantly clicked. She asked, “Do you want to adopt him?” and I said yes without hesitation. From then on, AL lovingly tortured her — a total goofball who tried to sit wherever Ozzie sat and stared at him like, “How is a dog this small?” He loved me deeply, and I loved him even more. Our bond was pure and unshakeable. AL passed away two years ago due to dementia, but my crazy, gentle, goofy boy will always remain a piece of my heart.
